Openers

Garage door openers — installed and repaired.

Smart Wi-Fi openers, belt-drive, chain-drive — installed clean and tuned right. Repairs on all major brands.

Openers

Modern openers, installed clean.

A great opener is quiet, fast, reliable, and integrates with your phone. We install and service all major residential brands — LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Craftsman — and we specialize in modern smart Wi-Fi openers (myQ and the newer Security+ 2.0 models). Whether you're replacing an old chain-drive that wakes the kids up or upgrading to a smart opener that opens for your delivery driver, we've got you covered.

Our installers are factory-trained on LiftMaster and Chamberlain. We've installed openers in homes across Ottawa, Kanata, Orleans, Nepean, and Barrhaven.

Opener types we install

Belt-drive (recommended)

Whisper-quiet, virtually no vibration. Best choice when there's living space directly above or beside the garage. Slightly higher cost than chain-drive, but worth it.

Chain-drive

The classic workhorse. Louder than belt-drive but extremely durable and lower cost. Fine for detached garages.

Direct-drive (jackshaft / wall-mount)

Mounted to the wall beside the door, no overhead motor. Frees up ceiling space and ideal for garages with high ceilings, low headroom, or storage racks. Very quiet.

Smart Wi-Fi openers

Most modern LiftMaster and Chamberlain openers include built-in Wi-Fi (myQ). Open and close from anywhere, get alerts, set schedules, give one-time access codes for delivery drivers.

Common opener repairs

  • Opener won't respond — dead remote, blown logic board, or wiring fault
  • Opener runs but door doesn't move — broken gear or stripped trolley
  • Door reverses immediately — sensor misalignment or force setting
  • Loud grinding — worn drive belt, sprocket, or motor bearings
  • Wi-Fi won't connect — myQ setup, router compatibility, firmware update

Frequently asked

How long does opener installation take?
About 90–120 minutes for a standard ceiling-mount install, including programming the remotes and Wi-Fi.
Will a new opener work with my existing garage door?
Yes, in almost every case. The opener doesn't care about the door brand — only the door's weight and balance. We confirm during the quote.
Do new openers come with battery backup?
LiftMaster's mid-range and premium models include battery backup standard (required by code in some jurisdictions). We always recommend it for Ottawa given winter outages.
Can you reprogram my remotes after a battery change?
Yes — usually a 5-minute job. We can do it during another visit or talk you through it on the phone.

Garage door acting up? We can usually be there today.

Call us directly or send a quick note about what's happening. Most repairs across Ottawa are handled the same day — including weekends.
