Aluminum capping in Ottawa
Protect the garage door frame.
Protect the detail.
A clean metal finish starts with a suitable substrate. Capping, seals and structural frame repair do different jobs—and should be quoted that way.

A clean finish needs something sound underneath.
Capping covers exposed frame surfaces in formed aluminum. If the material beneath is soft, damaged or unstable, covering it hides the problem instead of solving it.
What we check
- The substrate checked before anything is covered
- Any structural repair identified and quoted separately
- Formed aluminum fitted to the frame surfaces
- Seals and finish boundaries addressed
- Adjacent work needing another trade flagged clearly
Capping, framing and sealing are different jobs
Capping, weather seals and structural frame repair do different things and should be priced separately. Bundling them hides which one you are paying for.

Common questions
Will capping fix rotten wood?
No. Damaged or rotten wood should be repaired before it is covered.
Does capping replace weather stripping?
No. It covers suitable frame surfaces; the flexible seals at the door are a separate component.
Can it be done without a new door?
Potentially, depending on the existing opening and access. We’ll explain how the door and seals are handled during the capping work.
Will the colour match exactly?
Approve a real sample where possible. Screen images and neighbouring aged materials are not a guarantee of a perfect match.
Will aluminum capping stop water from getting in?
Not by itself. Water can get in through damaged wood, wall details, drainage issues or worn seals, so we check the source before treating capping as the solution.
