01 / DIAGNOSE
Garage door repair in Ottawa
Find the fault.
Not just the symptom.
A door that shakes, binds or refuses to move needs a diagnosis before it needs another part. Start with the door itself, the hardware and the opener.

What you see isn’t always the real problem.
An opener that struggles is often reacting to a heavy or binding door, and a crooked panel usually points to a cable or a track. Tell us what changed and where the door stops, and we work back from there.
What we check
- Full inspection of sections, hinges, rollers, tracks and supports
- Counterbalance and opener-interface check
- Adjustment or replacement of the parts actually at fault
- Balance and safety-reverse test before we leave
- A clear account of anything still outstanding
Why we check the whole door first
An adjustment is no substitute for replacing a cracked part or securing a weak mounting point. Finding the cause is what stops the same fault returning.

Common questions
Should I keep trying the opener?
Not if the door is crooked, unusually heavy, visibly damaged or accompanied by a bang. Repeated attempts can make a mechanical fault worse. Keep clear of the door and arrange a service visit.
Does a noisy door always need a new opener?
No. The door hardware and the opener are separate parts and need to be checked separately. The noise needs to be located before deciding which component needs attention.
Can you quote from a photograph?
A photo can help, but it cannot show the condition of every moving part or mounting point. We still need enough information about your door before confirming the repair.
What will the repair cost?
Pricing is provided privately after the job is assessed. Ask what’s included in the price and whether a separate service-call fee applies.
What warranty is included?
Workmanship is covered for 3 years. Our workmanship warranty is 3 years. Product warranties vary by manufacturer and are listed on the quote.
