Cable installation & replacement in Ottawa
The connection
that carries the load.
Replacement lift cables must suit the door’s lift arrangement and hardware. The objective is correct, balanced travel—not simply replacing what is visibly frayed.

The right cables for your garage door.
Replacement lift cables have to suit the door’s lift arrangement and hardware. The aim is correct, balanced travel — not swapping out whatever looks frayed.
What we check
- Lift arrangement and hardware confirmed on site
- Cables specified for that arrangement
- Drums, bearings and supports inspected
- Travel balanced across the full opening
- What was replaced, and why, explained on completion
A cable can look okay and still be wrong for the door
Cables fail from the inside and from where they sit under load. Condition at the drum matters more than what you can see from the floor.

BEFORE YOU BOOK
Common questions
Are all replacement garage door cables the same?
No. The cable and fittings have to match the door and the way it lifts.
Can the old cable be shortened and reused?
That should not be assumed safe or compatible. A damaged cable needs an appropriate replacement, not an improvised modification.
Should the springs be changed at the same time?
Only if their condition or the door setup calls for it. The quote should explain required work separately from optional changes.
Are safety cables the same as lift cables?
No. Containment cables used with extension springs serve a different purpose from the cables that lift the door.
Can this fix a crooked door?
Replacing the cable may be part of the repair, but we also need to find out why the door became uneven in the first place.
